Ensuring Our Students are Ready to Learn

Our staff works hard day in and day out to ensure that our students have the necessities to arrive at school ready to learn. With the shift in our focus to building our student’s ability to problem solve among their peers, it is important to meet the basic needs of our students.  What are some of the day-to-day actions we take to ensure our students are ready to learn?

  • Introduction to the use of circle with our staff and students
  • Daily and/or weekly check-ins with our students and families
  • Weekly food hampers delivered to families via the St. Alban’s food hampers program
  • Sandwiches delivered daily by The Richmond Food Bank
  • Daily bagged breakfasts delivered to classrooms with food provided by the Richmond Food Bank
  • Supporting families in accessing the Student and Family Affordability Fund
  • Monthly snacks for students donated by The Richmond Food Bank, additional snacks purchased via the Student and Family Affordability Fund for this school year
  • Weekly Breakfast Club in conjunction with Richmond Baptist Church—they provide food and volunteers.
  • Backpack buddies—food provided to students to take home over the weekend.
