As we move forward with our new focus question over the past 5 months we have focused on some actions and activities within our school setting. In Term 2—January through March 2023 all of our students took part in a school wide event that had them planning and designing, building, collaborating, assessing, and then tweaking their ideas and build.  Students worked collaboratively within their class to design and build a carnival game using cardboard as the main building structure. Students worked together over the span of 8 weeks to ensure their games were carnival ready.

Students then worked with their buddy classes to help them design and build their own group games.  The older buddies then learned the rules and expectations of each game and proceeded to lead the school in a 2 day carnival event.  The carnival consisted of students leading their own games, helping to lead the games of our youngest bobcats as well as running stations and games that included:  face painting, drawing and puzzles, outside group games and free play on the playground and of course everybody’s favourite, a food stop.
