Our School Story 2020-2021
As we all have navigated our way through the Covid-19 pandemic, our student’s and staff’s health, safety and well-being have been foremost on our minds. Over the course of the past 16 months our day to day has shifted tremendously. At Blundell, as a team, we have focused on implementing daily health and safety protocols, working within a cohort model, roles of staff shifting and how to maintain our strong sense of community with the prime focus of student learning and everyone’s safety.
This year most students returned to class in person, while many chose transitional learning. Over the course of the year as the pandemic shifted families made choices for their safety and child’s learning that best fit their comfort level. Most students did return to in-person learning, while a few chose to continue with transitional learning. One item we all had in common was that we had to implement many changes in how we taught, learned and socialized at school.
Blundell continued this year with the school goal of connecting to the core competencies and increasing student engagement and understanding of them.
These competencies include: Personal Awareness (I feel good about myself and about being a Blundell Bobcat), Social Responsibility (I can work and play respectfully and safely in our shared space) and Communication (I can listen and respond to others respectfully).
