Through our scanning phase of the past five months, we have repeatedly noticed that our students struggle with problem solving amongst each other. When debriefing challenging situations with our students they can share what and how they could have solved problems peacefully.  We notice that in the moment they are not always able to choose the best solution.  There is a gulf between their awareness and actions.
